Shaobo Town is an ancient town by the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, and is also a famous ancient lock for shipping on the canal. Less than 20 kilometers north of Shaobo Town is the Luyang Lake, which is a provincial-level wetland park and a four-star rural resort. The resort is crisscrossed with rivers and fish ponds, where water is crystal-clear; the beautiful pastoral scenes, intoxicating charm of water town, fresh, refreshing air, and pleasant climate make this place a rare "natural oxygen bar".
In the nearly 16-acre dawn redwood forest, if you look up, you see the green canopy of tall dawn redwoods; and if you look down, the soothing sight of duckweed fills your eyes. In summer, this place is full of greenery, and is called a fresh and romantic natural treasure that attracts many local residents and tourists to take pictures for social media. The most distinctive feature of Luyang Lake is undoubtedly the "water forest". If you wander around by boat in summer, as the cool breeze caresses your face, it is like sailing in a painting.
Every year, more than 60 kinds of birds come to Luyang Lake for summering and wintering. The common ones are egrets, gray herons, azure-winged magpies, black-naped orioles, great tits, magpies, cuckoo doves, pigeons, mandarin ducks, yellow warblers, pheasants and wild ducks. There are also more than 10 kinds of wild animals such as hares, otters and weasels inhabiting there.
