The 3rd China-CEEC Curators’ Forum of Libraries Union Held in Nanjing Library

From October 21 to 24, the 3rd China-CEEC Curators’ Forum of Libraries Union was held in Nanjing Library. 150 curators, experts and scholars from public libraries in Central and Eastern European countries (CEEC) such as Hungary, Serbia, Albania, Croatia, North Macedonia, Romania and Slovenia, as well as 45 public libraries in 23 provinces in China attended the Forum.

The China-CEEC Curators’ Forum of Libraries Union is an important platform to promote exchanges between the library communities in China and CEEC. At present, the Union has 60 member libraries, including 26 from China and 34 from CEEC.

"This year marks the 5th anniversary of the China-CEEC Libraries Union. Over the past 5 years, the member libraries of the Union have made significant progress in data sharing, literature exchange, personnel exchange, publicity and promotion, etc. via sincere cooperation and deeper friendship, and have jointly pushed exchanges and mutual learning between China and CEEC in the field of libraries to a new level." Qian Gang, party group member and deputy director-general of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, said. Currently, the development of library has entered the era of smart library, and towards a new stage of information sharing. This Forum will serve as the platform for the member libraries to share the development opportunity, and for China and CEEC to gather more wisdom and momentum for the exchanges, mutual learning, and high-quality development in the field of libraries.

This year's forum is centered on topics like "Special Literature and Innovative Promotion", "Diversified Library Services and Their Limits", "Preservation and Creative Utilization of Ancient Books", " Reading in City and Reading the City", and "Social Participation and High-Quality Development of Libraries".
