The Week of Jiangsu Cultural Tourism Promotion Campaign Starts in Guangdong


From June 17 to 18, the Week of Jiangsu Cultural Tourism Promotion Campaign starts in Guangdong, respectively holding two grand promotion events in Guangzhou and Shenzhen. It not only brings carefully selected cultural tourism products, but also offers sincere preferential policies to invite Guangdong tourists to enjoy the "Charm of Jiangsu".


Culture and Tourism Promotion to Fully Present Jiangsu’s Glamor

Jiangsu has been the dream place of literati since ancient times thanks to its beautiful natural scenery, a long history and profound cultural heritage. With 11 Intangible Cultural Heritages of Humanity inscribed by UNESCO and 161 national representative intangible cultural heritages, the number of intangible cultural heritage ranks top in the country. At the promotion event, Professor Hu Axiang from the School of History, Nanjing University introduced Jiangsu's unique world heritages that are "half natural and half man-made", and invited Guangdong tourists to "come to Jiangsu to experience a different cultural tour".


Jiangsu's food culture is no less impressive, and has left a unique cuisine of water town in its history. Huaiyang cuisine, one of the four major cuisines, originated here, and Yangzhou and Huai'an are selected as food capital of the world. Gourmet ambassador Yang Jingshu led the audience through the Jiangnan water towns to taste the blended charm of culture and cuisine, enjoy "the great food of Jiangsu".


At the event site, other brand ambassadors from cities in Jiangsu took turns on stage to impress tourists with their city’s features. Many local cultural and tourism departments from Jiangsu announced a wealth of preferential policies for cultural tourism, and a special bazaar was set up outside the venue to bring carefully selected cultural and tourism products for local people and showcase different cultural characteristics from different regions.

Ctrip launched exclusive travel routes and gave out over 3 million yuan of product discounts and bonuses for Guangdong tourists; Tongcheng Travel offered the mystery boxes of Jiangsu cultural tourism, including 7 categories and a total value of 2 million yuan of prizes; Meituan launched the brand pavilion "Charm of Jiangsu - From 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.", covering new scenarios of cultural tours from morning to night, and providing Guangdong tourists with exclusive discounted tickets.


Through multi-faceted display of cultural tourism resources of the two provinces, the campaign combines their complementary advantages and promotes co-development of cultural tourism industry in the two provinces. It also helps the two provinces to send their tourists to each other and facilitate mutual promotion of products, create new hotspots for cultural tourism, and achieve mutual benefits and win-win development.


Win-Win Co-operation to Expand the Cultural Tourism Market

Jiangsu and Guangdong are both large provinces with a high level of cultural tourism development, and have always been tourist destinations for each other’s tourists and important source of tourists. Since this year, with the recovery of the cultural tourism market, high-quality holiday and leisure resorts have become the preferred destinations for tourists in the two provinces. It is reported that Guangdong travel agencies will organize 100,000 Guangdong people to tour Jiangsu this year, an average of nearly fifty tourist groups to Jiangsu every week.


At the promotion event, the key cultural travel companies from Jiangsu and Guangdong provinces signed on-site to promote in-depth cooperation between travel agencies in the two provinces and send tourists to each other, so that more Jiangsu tourists can experience Guangdong, taste Guangdong food, while Guangdong tourists come to Jiangsu and fall in love with Jiangsu.
