Jintan Sanxing Village Neolithic Site

Sanxing Village Site is located in Sanxing Village, Xigang, Jintan City. According to carbon 14 test and archaeological research, the age of Sanxing Village Site is about 6500-5500 years ago and it is a key cultural relics protection units in China. It is a Neolithic cultural site in southern Jiangsu which is preserved well and with large area. Its existing area is 100 thousand square metres.

The unearthed relics mainly include potteries, stoneware, jade wares, bone horns, etc.. Among them, born horns have been unearthed in large numbers and produced well. Some bone objects are with strong local characteristics because they have been finely drilled or polished.

Potteries have been unearthed the most and are with extremely strong local characteristics. In addition, unearthed Ringfoot Engrave, Bird Pot and Polishing Colorful Bottle are all rare treasures of potteries reflecting the highly developed level of pottery making in the original cultural of Sanxing Village. Among the numerous potteries, typographic emblem pattern have been found on the bottoms of two implements. This provides materials for the study of the origin of words.

Primitive agriculture developed well.
