Imperial Examination Museum of China (Jiangnan Gongyuan)

The imperial examination system was established in the Sui Dynasty and lasted for 1,300 years in the Chinese history. Nanjing Imperial Examination Museum of China was constructed on the historical site of Jiangnan Gongyuan (imperial examination hall). In its heyday, the imperial examination hall covered an area of 300,000 square meters and totaled 20,644 examination rooms. Nowadays, the examination rooms still look magnificent. Besides the immersive interactive technologies, the museum was dedicatedly designed in detail. The two sides of the footpaths near the entrance are respectively the external wall made of scaly tiles and the internal wall made of bamboo books which imply carp jumping over the dragon gate and reading many volumes of books. The museum, located on the bank of the Qinhuai River, attracts learned people throughout the world. When walking in it, the eco of reading in the past seems to bring you the stories one after another.
