Suzhou Qionglong Mountain Scenic Area

It is situated in the western suburbs of Suzhou. As the main peak, Ruomao Peak is 341.7 m above sea level, and it is the crest of the mountains on the East Bank of Taihu Lake, which is the highest peak in Suzhou. In this area, the Dongwu National Forest Park was founded in 1993, and the Qionglong Mountain Scenic Management Area was established in 2006. It is now an important part of the Wuzhong Taihu Tourist Area, a national 5A scenic area.

The winding road totals 12 km and runs straight to the mountain’s top and runs through various scenic areas. The famous scenic areas include: Sun Wu Garden, Zhu Maichen Reading Station, Wanghu Garden, Shang Zhenguan, Ningbang Temple, Wanyue Station, etc.

During summer days, you can feel a gust of cool and refreshing breeze, appreciate the verdant trees and murmuring spring water.It is Suzhou’s largest “Natural Forest Oxygen Bar” with abundant natural resources. Mao Peng Wu, the provincial nature reserve covers an area of 612 mu, and is a natural plant museum. Mountain peaks on both sides reach for the sky, containing ample negative ions, and it will be about 4℃ cooler than outside in summer.

Going up the mountain path along the imperial road, taking a sightseeing vehicle, and enjoying the cool breeze mixed with the breath of flowers and plants. One can breathe the fresh air and appreciate the scenery along the way to his/her heart content, and enjoy the “air-conditioned room” provided by nature.
