Jiangsu Province, short for Su, is very close to Japan. It is located in the east of China and has beautiful scenery. It is located at the estuary of the Yangtze River, with the Huaihe River flowing through in the north, facing the Yellow Sea. The name is based on the combination of Jiangning and Suzhou, the capital of which is Nanjing.
Wuxi is located in the hinterland of the Yangtze River Plain. Serving as the traffic hub of the river valley of Taihu Lake, the Grand Canal flows through this area. With its long history and natural beauty, it has often been described as“The pearl of Lake Tai Hu”.
Suzhou is located along the southeastern edge of Jiangsu Province in eastern China. With 2,500 years history, it is famed for its beautiful gardens and traditional waterside architecture. The Classical Gardens of Suzhou were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1997.

With a history of over 2,100 years, Taizhou city lies at the confluence of the Yangtze River and the Grand Canal . Italian explorer Marco Polo described the city as a small place where people enjoyed every comfort and happiness that life could provide when he visited it over 700 years ago.
Sitting on the north bank of the Yangtze, Yangzhou is as old as the Grand Canal. The canal brought Yangzhou prosperity and made a name for the place, enabling it to become a window for ancient China’s communications with the outside world. Italian explorer Marco Polo resided in Yangzhou for three years.
Huaian is located at the northern part of Jiangsu Province. It has 2200 years history. Ancient Huaihe and the Grand Canal intersect here. Huaian also known as “one of the four great cities of the Grand Canal”.
Lianyungang, name derives from Lian Island, the largest island in Jiangsu which lies off its coastline, and Yuntai Mountain, the highest peak in Jiangsu, a few miles from the town center, and the fact that it is a port. The name can be literally translated as the Port Connecting the Clouds.
Xuzhou is the first stop along the Grand Canal in Jiangsu Province. It is a city with more than 5,000 years of history. Since ancient times, due to its geological location, the city has been a business hub and also a town of military importance. As the origin of “Han” Chinese culture, the city offers the tourist a rich cultural heritage and a number of wonderful historical sites, often dubbed as the Athens of the East”.
Suqian is one of the youngest prefecture-level cities in Jiangsu Province, but its history is not short. Being one of the world’s biological evolution centers and cenrters of human origin, it is dubbed as the “holy land of life”. Suqian is also called “the city of liquor” for its famous brands of spirits.
Zhenjiang lies on the southern bank of the Yangtze River near its intersection with the Grand Canal. Zhenjiang was formerly the provincial capital of Jiangsu and remains as an important transportation hub.The city is best known both in China and abroad for its fragrant black vinegar, a seasoning of Chinese cooking.
Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu province. Situated at the southern bank of the Yangtze River, Nanjing has a history of over 2,500 years. Having served as the capital city for nearly 500 years, it is recognized as one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China, also known as the “capital of six dynasties” and the “metropolis of ten regimes”.
Sitting south of the Yangtze River and beside Taihu Lake, Changzhou is located in the central area of the Yangtze River Delta area. Changzhou is a famous cultural city with a history over 3,200 years which boasts many scenic spots and historical sites, such as Spring and Autumn Flooded City Ruins Park and the Tianmu Lake Resort. The modern China Dinosaur Park and the new amusement park called CC Joyland have added to the city’s appeal.
