Xinghua traditional wooden boat manufacturing skills originated in the Song Dynasty, mainly distributing in Zhujing Town, Xinghua City. Because Zhuji Town is located in the Xihe River area of Suzhongli, the terrain is low, and all the activities such as mass life, travel and labor are inseparable from the boat. Therefore, there have been hand workshops for making wooden boats, thus forming a unique craft of wooden boat manufacturing.
Xinghua wooden boat manufacturing technology has many processes, and the interlocking process is very difficult. Mainly use old-age fir as the main raw material. Large ships such as sea-going vessels for coastal fishing production also use some mulberry trees and eucalyptus trees, supplemented by iron nails, hemp silk, lime and tung oil. The production process in the shipbuilding process is carried out by hand, and the entire shipbuilding process is mainly divided into 10 parts.
