China Canal Transport Museum

China Canal Transport Museum is situated around the Huaian Canal Transport Zongdushu Ruins of Huai’an City in Jiangsu Province, which is a AAAA level tourist scenic spot. As the “Capital of Canal”, Huaian established the China Canal Transport Museum in order to display the culture of canal transport. Huaian Canal Transport Zongdushu Historic Site is one of China’s major archaeological discoveries in 2002. The integration of Canal Transport Museum and Canal Transport Zongdushu Ruins completely display the historic sites and history of Canal Transport to people.

Canal Transport Museum adopts the mainstream style of Jianghuai Basin Architecture in the period of Ming and Qing Dynasty, the total construction area is 6300 m2, and its overall layout presents “品” style. The museum falls into Cultural Relics Hall, Vision Hall, Huai’an Hall, Canal Hall, History Hall and Front Hall, each depicts the Rise and Fall of Canal Transport respectively.

In Front Hall, the creative combination of 180-degree huge projection scroll and artistic sand table model present a multi-sensory visual feast, which unveils the historic original appearance of brilliant Canal Transport Culture in a representational and powerful way.

The high and new technology in the museum vividly shows the history, simulates and restores real scenario in a real magic way. The tens of thousands of collections in the museum elaborate the history of canal transport, and Huaian has achieved its prosperity due to the canal transport and becomes a brilliant pearl around the canal.
