The year 2023 marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relation between China and Spain, and the people of both countries are expecting eagerly to resume tourism and cultural exchanges. In order to coordinate with the work of "2023 China-Spain Year of Culture and Tourism" and to further enhance the visibility and reputation of the "Charm of Jiangsu" brand in Spain and among the Spanish-speaking people, the Jiangsu Tourism (Spain) Promotion Center, on behalf of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, recently participated in the 43rd International Tourism Trade Fair held in Feria de Madrid (IFEMA).
The International Tourism Trade Fair is one of the world's top three tourism fairs, and is also the largest and most influential professional tourism fair in the Spanish-speaking market worldwide (about 400 million people). This year's fair attracted 131 countries and regions around the world, 8,360 companies/institutions and about 120,000 participants, including 82,000 professionals and nearly 40,000 travel enthusiasts.
In response to the characteristics of the prospective markets and tourists’ preferences, the Jiangsu Tourism (Spain) Promotion Center gave out tourism promotional material in Spanish with themes of "Canal Civilization", "Culture and Art", "Intangible Cultural Heritage", "Local Cuisine", and "Leisure and Health Preservation" together with Jiangsu travel souvenirs at the Fair. It also played repeatedly Jiangsu cultural tourism related videos on the large screen in the Chinese exhibition area, and invited craft masters to make traditional rabbit lanterns and showcase the techniques of Intangible Cultural Heritage, actively displayed Jiangsu’s unique charm and characteristics of culture and tourism. The various forms of promotion activities were welcomed and praised by the professional travel agencies, media and travel enthusiasts on the site, who expressed their strong desire to visit Jiangsu and see the province personally.
